I've gotten cards like Gura and Foster from packs when they were new.
As far as I can tell they're from part of the machine that dos the cutting. I call them gripper marks. They're not common, but the one I got that I didn't get from a pack myself was free because it was damaged and the dealer whose shop I hung out at saved that sort of stuff for me.
