They've tossed that idea around here in CT, but haven't quite gotten to that point yet. They do now allow farmers to cull bear, if they have done damage to their property, and are pretty quick to euthanize a bear if it's been reported to be a threat, or gets way too comfortable around humans. It's funny, when I was growing up in this area, we never saw Bears in the 70's-80's-90's, and nobody I knew ever saw one. Wasn't until the mid 2000's or so, I saw my first bear in one of our neighborhoods. Been pretty steady growth ever since. I just saw a Mama and two cubs skirting our property last week.
