Seems legit, it would be suspicious if it was from Tyler.

They always come in the off-topic section
I saw their reply in the funny pics thread
Always new registered and 1 post and then “ edited”

That's not the first one I've received. Always different emails but the same basic message about their "old man"

"my old man" "my dad" and "my uncle" are the multi-year keywords to look for.

You would think they would evolve, but evidently this works because the script rarely changed.

It's a very similar scam pulled on all kinds of message boards for all kinds of collectables, from cards to guns to etc...this place isn't a unique target for them.

I just received a PM from bettyneville24 responding to my search for a Tigers flannel. It turns out that his/her "old man" has what I'm looking for.

If you look under that ID, that troll has been banned for sometime. Always remember to look at someones ID to see if they are banned. If so, it might be a red flag.

Scammers need to find something to do with their time. Maybe they need to be visited by ICE?

Since the majority of scammers in our hobby are old, overweight, white males I doubt that would help.
