There's some background on them at Pre-War cards https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...wRSuVSGYY6lnsW I've also seen a reference on Heritage that "It is believed these small (3/8" diameter) pins were given away in cereal boxes, but their true origin is unknown." If that's true id love to know which cereal.
