Default Things That Make You Go Hmmm...

With all due respect to Arsenio Hall (and C+C Music Factory), what's the rationale here?
Does his PSA 10 just have much better eye appeal than the other perfect PSA 10s that are overpriced and sit unsold for about 1/100 of the amount?????

Probably just hoping that someone accidentally clicks buy.

Although I’ve heard some people assert that it could be a money laundering front.

Or someone who wants to show that they are a resaler who shouldn’t pay sales tax, but doesn’t actually want to sell anything. Or if they do sell it, they’re only willing to sell for 100x the normal price.

It's odd that none of your possibilities were "because he's completely effin' delusional."

It’s always a possibility…but I suspect that’s not the case here.

You've both overlooked the obvious. The $25,000 card "benefits charity." Clearly, the seller is hoping to provide all but $250 to that charity. The other sellers are asking only about $250 and have nothing left to give to charity.

Obviously, delusional prices on eBay are hardly anything new in 2025. My new favorite trick is these sellers who I think have a reasonable BIN on their item; then when I look closer it's not really a BIN - it's what they want for an opening bid.

I always just assume there are those few people who actually have the means to go along with the hair-brained notion that just because something is more expensive, it inherently must also be the best.

I'll stick with groaning on my occasional overspend purchases of 20% or more over comps on eBay, simply because I want whatever card, it's not available at the last 3 shows I've been to - and I'm tired of never finding one that's reasonably priced. Invariably if I sell this card a year or so later, I take a complete haircut (Buy high, sell low). This is part of the reason I'm committing to "stop" selling stuff in 2026. I digress...

Ah yes, the rare 1/1 Bonilla cards and the uber rare Jose (Juan?) Uribe cards I believe from 1990 Topps - which, although never confirmed to be rare by any respectable source in the hobby - anyone in their right mind knows is worth a billion, gazillion dollars.

If it's 1990, then it's probably Jose. Don't think Juan started playing until mid-2000s.

I was just amused that he called a 73 Fisk a rookie card...
