Default Joe DiMaggio

I got this about 15 years ago at an annual event a charity was holding. They had various items up for silent auction. This piece is a framed, matted 8x10 photo. Any glare is from the glass in the frame. There is no COA, so no company to attribute this to. I always meant to ask here what you all thought of the autograph. Please let me know whether you think it’s legit or fake.

Any thoughts as to whether this is real or fake? I collect mainly cards, so I really don't know.

A few tidbits:
  • I got the item at a charity event...back before I quit drinking. I'd say, "I don't know what came over me" but I have a pretty good idea it was the alcohol.
  • I'm not looking to sell this. I'm just looking for opinions to satisfy my own curiosity.
  • The frame has a heavy brown paper backing. To extract the photo and send it to TPG would involve destroying that backing. I really don't want to do that.
  • Why wait all this time to ask? Good question. If any of you have cats, you know the "joy" of looking for one around the house when they don't want to be found. I wound up finding quite a few things I hadn't seen in a while. (and yes, the cat is fine; he's just very good at playing hide-and-go-seek)

Hey Eric - I’m no expert AT ALL but I’ll say it looks good to me. That said, you might want to move this to the autograph forum and add “need help,” “autograph,” etc. to the title. I’m surprised you haven’t gotten opinions…people are usually eager to chime in.
