I totally agree, noting that there is likely a sizable portion of an entire generation who have never literally read an article of that length without the help of some sort of AI summary tool. TLDR and all that.
Bill Belichick is a coaching genius. If I were a high school football player, I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't want to play for Belichick in college. Especially if I were a marginal prospect. Yeah, it's weird with the girlfriend and all that, but he's not the first successful older man who's fallen into that trap. But it's a red herring.

The author understands him well. The best prose in the piece is where he refers to Belichick's ability to say nothing while convincing you he has said something profound as "both gift and art."
