Default Reduced: 1887 N184 WS Kimball - Jack Dempsey - SGC 2 Rare

Very tough and early card for the Hall of Fame dominant boxer with a lifetime record of 52-3, 27 wins coming by KO.

Only one sale in past year in VCP and 2 sales in 2 years.

$450 OBO net shipped same business day

Cool card, but the Jack Dempsey with the record you are referring to wasn’t born yet.

Thanks Correction:

This guy, "Nonpariel" Jack Dempsey was 52-3 with 27 by knockout. Also a Hall of Famer. After he died at age 32 of Tuberculosis, his brother William used his psuedonym and became the "great" Jack Dempsey of the 1910's-1920's.

My mistake.

Thanks

I was confused myself, and PSAs website even describes it as the JD we all are more familiar with. I looked at the birth date one day and it didn’t make sense to me and that’s when I had to reach out on here and get it cleared up myself, because there are lots of articles that do link the two together.

I don’t think it’s his brother either from my research. Where did you see that?

You are right. Read the bio wrong. Anyway. This guy could fight.

Dempsey was inducted into The Ring magazine Hall of Fame in 1954, and into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.[6] The brothers Bernie and William Harrison Dempsey used his name as a pseudonym. And after the latter's success in the 1910s and 1920s he was usually mentioned with his nickname Nonpareil.

Here is THIS N184 Jack’s bio from the International Boxing HOF.
