Obviously, it matters where the paper loss is, but I am curious, generally speaking, how much it affects a cards price overall price compared to say a creased one or one with other defects?
With this Mantle of mine, with the paper loss in the lower right corner, how much less could I expect to receive for it compared to this creased PSA 1 that recently sold. Of course mine is ungraded, but assuming it would also grade out as a 1? Can I expect about, 60, 70 or 80% of what this one sold for, generally speaking, or, because of the paper loss, I'd be lucky to get that? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/376728443569

I don't think there is any way to tell without auctioning it. I would think it would sell for more, based on it's overall nice presentation..

Dale, are you thinking of selling your 52 Mantle? Did you ever complete your set?

Obviously none of us knows for sure, although $30k seems a little strong for that much paper loss.
Certainly we have seen copies that look like they’ve been chewed up and gone through the wash, and sold for $10k. I would guess north of that, just a question of whether you could get $20k or $25k or more.

![]() Never did finish it. Still need Mathews and Wilhelm but I just recently purchased both 83 reprint copies. ![]() I have kicked around the idea lately of selling it but I'm back and forth with the thought most times. I'm afraid to send it in for grading and I'm afraid, if someone did want it, to send it through the mail. What I'd prefer is a face to face sale but that is not always easy, especially if an American buyer was interested?

Some examples I guess I could have looked at prior to posting, but, with that said, like John mentioned, there is no true way of really placing value on it until you see what you get at an auction.
I believe mine is nicer than both the H&S copies but not the Heritage one so placing value somewhere in between is likely the safest bet? https://hugginsandscott.com/auction/...-sgc-authentic https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c.../50081-80595.s https://www.cllct.com/sports-collect...ll-fetches-16k
