You see the Pinkertons without the mount that either have blank backs or scorecard backs quite often. I have always wondered with the variance that you find in the mounts, how can you tell if someone has not just bought one of the scorecard backs (which are much cheaper) and affixed to a period mount? Is there anything in particular about the mount that you should look for to make sure the entire piece is legit such as paper stock of the photo etc? |
