What do you consider your area or areas of expertise. Is it bats, photos, trophies, pennants or whatever. Obviously this probably relates to what you collect as well. |

I'm not saying I am THE expert, but I'm pretty good with store model bat and getting better with pinbacks. |

I have a good overall feeling for sports memorabilia in general that include many types of items that I come across, I do like finding New England related items. |

The term "expert" is a nebulous term. Even doctors and dentists call their business their "practice". So I guess we all practice our crafts, and keep on learning. I like to think i am some what knowledgable in news and wire photos. I have been collecting originals for many years. I think it is one of the last aspects of sports collectables ,to be gone after, and is still very very reasonable. To me, coming across a pre war photo, of a hall of famer, that no one else has, or hardly any one has ever seen is very cool. A peek into the past. A brief snapshot of a players career, or life. I find that fascinating. |

That's what I love about memorabilia guys, modesty. Except Greg, he keeps picking on my poor Orioles. You guys got my drift though. I was just looking for what area or areas your most knowledgeable in. I think it's true were always learning something new. |

Sorry Clint, Don't mean to pick on the Birds. I actually love the Birds, they're my second favorite team. I wish we got your shortstop last year. Had the pleasure going down to Maryland for a series in 05. Had a great time, great city! Yesterday, though, was a great day to be a Sox fan. |

To some extent, pre 1900 images. More so with dags, ambros and tintypes and to a lesser bit albumens, cabinet cards and cdvs. I also feel pretty comfortable with early manuscript material as far as ink, writing style and paper goes (although this doesn't help much in the world of baseball collectibles). |

Mine would be in pre-1870 baseball artifacts. The earlier they are, the more my curiosity is piqued. I try to keep a comprehensive research library for these early pieces. |

Yes, I have pics of a number of bats but I'm not quite sure how to post them here as I've never done it. I just signed up with image services and will try to get some posted this evening. I'll have to transfer them from another computer. |

I am trying to research and expand my collection on baseball in the Pacific NW (since thats where i live) but im having a difficult time finding memorabilia. Outside of the few P.C.L baseball sets that were produced in the early days its tough to find much! |
