They're originals. The date stamps on back of very desirable, as they prove the date. That they were published in the newspaper (evidenced by the clippings, cropping marks and editorial notes) will make them more desirable to some collectors. Not all photos in a newspaper or magazine's archives were published. The original photos were sent only to subscribing newspapers and magazines, an original or two kept by photo service. Over the years, most would be tossed out or lost. Today, there will be only a handful at most of your specific original photos, and it's possible one or both is unique. |
