To repeat my point because you people obviously missed it, I have no basis to think Dan INTENDED the comment as anything remotely racist. My point is that the word "boy" has a long history of being used in a derogatory (to put it mildly) fashion towards African-American males and I for one would not use it, particularly in a public forum and in combination with the word "dat," to refer to an African-American male because it might be MISCONSTRUED. I am sure that was Greg's point as well, although he can speak for himself. And now I will go "lighten up" and go back to my conference call with Susan Sarandon and Jane Fonda. |
