Gehrig's batting pose has the Ruth beat. It's on a 1927 Exhibits, W553, W554, R316 Kashin, R316 5x7 photo, Goudey 92 & 160, & 1933 WWG. The same pose of Ruth & Gehrig are also on an uncataloged W554 "no text" variation. That's 9 different Gehrig cards with the same pic. Are there any others? As far as a span of time, Cobb's pose with bat on the 1907-09 Novelty Cutlery, & 1922 e121 is a good one. |
