I had a filly (Annabelly) break down with a very similar injury in 2004 (condylar fracture of the cannon, broken pastern and sesamoid bones in the ankle). She was harnessed for several weeks and stall bound for over nine months.

I am pleased to report she gave birth to a fine El Prado colt in April and is back in foal. She is happily prancing around the fields with the other mares as we speak.

Miracles do happen.
