Touchy situation with a board member

I'm by no means judging. Merely asking a question here. Would it not have been more appropriate to have just dealt with Jorge on this matter? As in telling him for the time being he shouldn't be active with the B/S/T for a period of time? Do you as a moderator have the ability to block users from certain areas of the site?

Just curious...I hate to see anyone's name brought up like this...but if you had no other way to deal with it, so be it.
