Tinker, Evers, to Chance

All three of the guys were in a number of sets. I have a Joe Tinker in the T205 and my goal is obtain the other two. It's my favorite set that has all three. What is yours?

Also, this portion of the post is O/T but to those that care to respond, how far are the Cubbies going to go in the playoffs?

My favorite is the T202 with Evers on the center panel, and Tinker and Chance on the end panels.

E98 Chance, Tinker and Evers are sharp looking cards but I agree, the T205s are the best.
P.S. I always wondered why Tinker was omitted from the E94 set, otherwise that would be my favorite threesome as the E94 Evers and Chance are sharp.

Anyone given thought to how many contemporary sets have all 3 as Cubs???

T205 and T206 and T216 do, T207 doesn't. T213 has all 3, but I'm not sure if they're all Cubs in that, as I'm thinking they aren't in Cracker Jack.

E101 does. E90-1 and E102 don't have all 3.

Surely someone has already thought about this and put each of the 3 together, as Cubs, in each possible set.

Steve said it and Sean showed it... the T202 Tinkers Evers Chance card. That is one of the coolest cards out there because it has three storied and linked HOFers on the same card. A truly awesome piece!

i like the t205 or the portraits t206,only time i like the portraits more tha other poses,tinker/evers/chance. forever linked together,they should be a trio in the hall of fame. individually they lack the talent to be members of the hall.

they were an infield on a great early baseball team that won 4 championships.evers was the best player of the 3. they were voted in as a trio. imo it was a good selection. it is the hall of FAME. not the hall of great.

BTW, here is a quote by Matty re his opinion of Chance. Seems a fair endorsement :

I actually think the poem takes away from them somewhat as that becomes everybodies excuse as to why they shouldnt be in the hall. In fact, they all deserve it. People frown on evers and tinker because of their low lifetime BA when they forget how good they were in:
clutch situations
overall performance in relation to their team
how much they helped their team to get to 4 world series in 5 years in an era where pitching ruled.
plus individual acheivements such as evers golden year with the braves that undoubtably got them to the series.
Tinker's performance late in the season and how he dominated Christy Mathewson.
Frank chance's ability to be a star player and manger.
I also think kling and schulte deserve hall recognition.

Very Nice T205s. In case it wasn't clear, I really don't think the poem had much to do with all three getting into the HOF. I'm really wondering whether they would have been as good playing without each other.

earth to peter ....the poem had EVERYTHING to do with them being inducted. without the poem there is no hall of fame for tinker/evers/chance

You mean to tell me this horrid poem got the three of them into the HOF? Sounds like a jingle written for 12 year-olds. And then Adams decides to throw a rock in the middle of the jingle, "Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble."

However, out of the trio I would only seriously consider Johnny Evers as a Hall of Famer, he had all the intangibles. Also, Mr. Evers was the Most Valuable Player in the National League in 1914, when he led the Braves to a miracle pennant. Played in 4 World Series and hit .350 or better in 3 of them.
