Default Viewing Threads

Steve - unnecessary, impractical and strained.

By the way - just to go back to the earlier comment regarding starting new pick up threads, if you look back at the 3rd November pick up thread, it is sitting at 39 posts. Hasnt even reached 40 and a 4th pick up thread was started. When I first joined the board, we had one pick up thread a month. Then there were complaints about the amount of time it took to load the threads so we started new ones when the thread reached about 50 posts. Fifty was the norm. Over time (ie the last couple of years) the number of posts has gradually shrunk before new threads are started. Lately, its much more common for a thread to be closer to 40 rather than 50 before a new one is started. Given the growth in broadband usage over the last few years I dont see why this is necessary (in other words, most people, by now, probably have high speed internet making the original justification for multiple pick up threads a moot point).
