For a long, long time I've called my dad 'Podre' or 'Podes' with is a cross between padre (Spanish for father) and a Johnny Podres Topps card I happen to have at the time I coined the nickname. I used to call mi papi "padre" until he made the mistake of walking by me when I had a Podres card in my hand ("Hey Podre"). Rather silly, but it stuck. Naturally, mi madre se llama "Modre." |
