Do you think it is a color variation? To me it looks faded from sun light, red will have a tendency to look more brown.

Just missing a bit of ink. These are not uncommon at all.

T206's were printed using a 6-color process and RED was the final ink pass in this process.
Therefore, this card is a legitimate color error that didn't get the final ink application.
