Default personal collecting questions

Posted By: Jim VB

1. What is your focus today, in collecting?

Focus has always been sets, both sports and non-sports. Always have several in various stages of completion.

2. What are the 3 cards you need most?

Actually, it's four. 1932 NY Giants Schedule Postcards. Still need Allen, Bell, Healey and Leslie. Have needed them for 20 years or so. I'm sure 2009 will be different.

3. Do you like to trade, buy, or a combination when you do acquire your needs?

Combination is fine, but would always be willing to buy.

4. Has the economy forced you to sell things you wouldn't have otherwise?

No, but I have slowed my buying a little, and have considered selling some non-baseball sets (e.g.- Basketball)

5. What is your absolute favorite series, why?

1933 Goudey. To me it was the widespread start of the modern Baseball card (aimed at kids, not tobacco using adults.)

6. How do you enjoy acquiring your cards most- Ebay, auction, BST, shows etc...?

Haven't done a show in over 10 years, so Ebay and auction houses it is. BST has been a great plus.

7. What do you do for a living, how old are you and where do you live?

Retired Retail Executive. Almost 54. Live 20 mile north of Dallas, TX.
