Posted By: Dan Bretta I saw it only because it was being talked about in the chatroom. IMO it went very cheap...something like that is probably $10,000+ in an REA auction. |

Posted By: jim sexton Wow is right. A fantastic buy. This is only the third Ferguson premium of which I am aware. One sold in a 1998 Mastro auction. I do not know the selling price. Another sold in a private sale. The seller got over 15,000 for it, at least that is what the dealer told me he sold it for. It also may have been in better condition than the other two. |

Posted By: jim sexton Frank, Having done the research and written an article on this topic I can assure you that this is the real thing. Check the Mastro auction of 1998, lot 1192 and read the description. Or better yet, read the article in Old Cardboard,#8 Summer 2006. I personally talked to a highly respected dealer about this pillow top premium. He told me he sold the one he had for 17000 dollars. They are extremely rare but they are real. |

Posted By: Michael Steele Leon, your killing me with that card. I think you had a D381 Ferguson Joe Wood w/o the coupon tab in the recent B&L auction that a certain board member outside the Continental United States captured. I love that Lewis card. |

Posted By: Todd Schultz Frank, I think the better question is whether the BF2 pennants were actually produced by Ferguson Bakery. It is clear (beyond dispute, really)from the above advertising and Leon's card with coupon that the felt "pillow top" was available from Ferguson. You observed yourself that individual pennants of the type shown on the pillow top were not available or at least have not been seen, so it seems impossible someone came up with a sewn home-made example patched together from pennants. |

Posted By: jim sexton I have owned that blotter for some time but did not notice until today that the picture on it representing the large premium pennant is actually the pennant found on the pillow top with a D381 picture. To date there is no Evers premium pennant. |

Posted By: Todd Schultz also strange is that the Evers photo is different from the D381 card of him, whereas all the other images from the ebay pennant match up with D381 except Johnson, who supposedly does not exist in that set. |

I figure instead of starting a new thread I can revive this one and not have to give all of the credits, the statements are all here by their makers. Here is the Ferguson's Bakery Pillow Top that fits in this thread, though I don't know (someone will) if it is the one that was being talked about on ebay. This Pillow Top has to be one of my favorite pickups in the last few years. It is approximately 25" x 25".....and might as well throw in the Ferguson's Premium Alexander too . It is approximately 23" x 9".

Hi Leon, Your premium is the one that sold in the 1998 Mastro auction. In fact the picture in my article is your premium. Old cardboard did a photo shop on the missing part. If you look closely, you can see the repair. Congrats again on two great pick-ups.
