So I guess the conclusion is that it was a typo and no 1883 Metropolitans woodcut was offered in the auction. Too bad since I thought I finally found an image of this team.
 "There are eight Harpers woodcuts, six of which have been beautifully hand colored. These include 1882 Metropolitans, 1882 Providence, 1865 Atlantics, 1882 Chicago, 1874 Boston and 1883 Metropolitans."
