His cellmate wants to kill him because he got away with murder, not because he committed murder. The cellmate is presumably serving hard time for his murder -- probably more time than OJ got for the robbery. So the cellmate is not being hypocritical or ironic. He is merely defending the integrity of the criminal justice system.
