 Ted Williams returns to baseball to manage the Washington Senators on Opening Day 1969. Bobby Murcer homers as Mel Stottlemeyre goes the distance for an 8-4 Yankee win.  The Athletics play their final games in Kansas City before only 5,325 fans, sweeping the White Sox in a doubleheader. Those would be the final victories for the franchise. Catfish Hunter wins the finale.
