The lack of copyright is not uncommon--half of those I own have the copyright and half do not. Also, about two-thirds of mine have the full player name and the others only the surname--those in the latter group all have the copyright except Wambsganss. Bottom line--nothing conclusive.
I have not figured out any way to calculate which year a particular card was issued with any certainty--other than of course the Ruth card showing him as a Yankee. Many of the photos show players wearing their 1917 uniforms (with the U.S. flag or a shield in honor of the troops fighting WWI), suggesting that many may have been issued that year or next, since I believe all photos in the set were originals. Iwould love to see any scans you might share. |
