The game was played, but on Oct 1 when they made up the week of games that was lost during the stoppage.
They Yankees didn't start scanning tickets until a couple of years later, so it does make sense that it's in stub form, as it was likely used on the re-scheduled date. If anyone has a few grand in their couch cushions, I'll be glad to dig out my unused tickets from that game.
