The R337 Harris #412 card is not Bucky Harris - rather, it is Dave Harris, a part-time outfielder who played for the Washington Senators from 1930 to 1934. He was frequently used as a pinch hitter, leading the A.L. in both pinch-hit at-bats and pinch hits in 1932, which I assume accounts for the narrative "... and a dangerous hitter in the pinch." on the back of this 1933 card.
My 2008 edition of the Standard Catalog of BB Cards erroneously lists card #412 as being Bucky Harris. I don't know if this error has been corrected in more recent editions. Val |
