I remember looking through the legendary catalogues Rhys is referring to and
had difficulty finding many Conlon or Thompson photos used for T206s. I did see Conlon's L. Tannehill and a Killian and I bid on both and won the Tannehill, gratefully. Ialso remember a Van Oeyen photo or 2. I do remember Thompson had a few photos for T205s. My impression has been that Conlon was key for T206 poses and not Thompson but would be eager to have it proved otherwise. I've also been under the impression that it's a bit difficult to know what a true Thompson is anyway since he allowed so many 'underlings' to use his credit line for pretty savvy business reasons but tough on those of us looking for the 'pure' Thompson. My one Type 1 Thompson is of Buck Weaver sliding by Fletcher in the 1917 World Series SAFE---not a T206 pose, obviously, but a keeper of the Black Sox 'to be'. best, barry Last edited by ethicsprof; 08-16-2010 at 02:32 PM. |
