Unfortunately, my wife's family reunion is scheduled for the very same weekend, and you can readily guess which event won the scheduling conflict. If I could go, and finances permitted, I'd be looking for a 1923-24 Exhibit Babe Ruth in any grade; R315 HOF'ers in the gold/yellow stock (far rarer than the usual black and white stock) other than Foxx, who I already have in SGC ExMt; a 1928 Exhibit Gehrig (love the follow-through pose, as you can just imagine Larrupin' Lou has just lashed one deep, up the alley) and/or an affordable 1907 Wolverine News Cobb (portrait). While it's gotten smaller with the development of the internet, the National is still a great place to go to find such things!
Happy hunting to all who are going! Larry Last edited by ls7plus; 07-03-2011 at 12:37 AM. |
