The odds aren't great of course. But I've rec'd low offers and sold at a sizeable loss at times. Also, Ive scored great bargains here on occasion. Never know, unless you try. Sometimes I get no replies and sometimes I neglect to reply, no sweat. It ain't the freakin prom.
This is a game. Buyers shouldn't take rejected or snubbed offers personally. Seller receiving low-ball offers, likewise. Don't let the chickensh!t eat at you. Besides, I think we're men? As far as the OP's post, surprising... Too bad it had to be dragged out here. The target could have easily been many of us. While Im at it.
