Show us your Negro League autographs!!!
Just picked this beauty up!!! I am very happy with it. I have been in the market for a Paige autograph for years and have never found one I like that matched what I was willing to pay.. I had to pay a premium for this one but its the nicest Satchel Paige I have ever seen. I'm still looking for the right Jackie, perferably made out "To Mike". Hey one can dream

I've posted this one before, but it never gets old (for me).
He passed away before he was able to make that trip to Cooperstown in August. Doug |

Doug, seeing that postcard never gets old for me, either. I noticed the note on the back is made out to Doug. Is that you? If so, that's even more cool.

Yes, I used to write to people when I was younger and it was (for me) more fun.

Nap Gulley
So....a young fresh faced player, in the photo. A very accommodating signer and seemed very pleased to be appreciated in a historical context.
RIP Nap |

A couple of mine. The plate, I wish I could afford to add Hank. The litho I schlepped around for a while. And a cluster of my favorite baseballs. I know some are tough to read: Jake Stephens, Dave Hoskins, Jeep McClain, Webster MacDonald, plus Monte Irvin and Night Train Lane with their NL aliases.
(Sure wish my photos wouldn't turn like that!) |

Here is one I haven't seen posted yet. This is one of my favorite autos in my HOF collection, as this is his only pack-issued autograph card and I bought it in the hospital room when my son had just been born (he and my wife were asleep, which I feel the need to point out so it doesn't seem that I was surfing ebay instead of binding with my newborn!).
Also a bit of trivia- Day is the only player whose cap in the HOF is a Puerto Rican team (Aguadilla Sharks)

When I was doing TTM autograph requests, John "mule" Miles sent these quotes along with his autograph.

Just got these in a little while ago. Easy autographs, but almost impossible on these cards.

Buck Leonard
This is a 3" x 5" card. I don't know who this Mr. Luderus is but that name has long been associated with the Phillies organization. There have been Luderus individuals involved as player and minor league front office jobs. But...just wild speculation.

First post. What an informative place!
I'm fairly new to collecting. How rare is Johnny Wright's autograph? I've never seen one. Last edited by Dewey; 03-24-2016 at 05:26 PM. |

Jim Stinson has a RIDICULOUS negro league auto ball in his latest email, one that includes Ray Brown and Jud Wilson. Only 9.6K!

I have had that Negro league ball since 2006 and if you want a Jud Wilson this will most likely be your only chance to get one.

I just bought a large group of Negro League autographs at a flea market. They are all fairly common signatures but the price was right and the autographed letters are really cool. All of the photos and the scorecard are reproductions but the signatures are real (or at least I am fairly certain they are).

Thanks Wayne! I never know what I will find. A few weeks ago I got 50+ photos from Minnie Minoso's estate. Last week, I got a 40TC script signature Cobb bat (rough shape but still cool) as well as this Negro League lot. I am amazed at what is still available at these types of venues. Of course, you do have to put in a lot of work (I strike out frequently too).

I'd love to see this thread keep going. A few more of those 70's baseball cards, and quite possibly my favorite 8x10 image of all time.

Couple of my Negro League related items.
First image is from Martin Dihigo's personal collection and includes his signature on a team picture from 1927. The second is a Negro League baseball signed by Jackie Robinson and others. edit: Not that the images make it clear, but the picture is larger than the baseball lol. Thought I'd bring this thread back to life.
Only known signature of Dick "Cannonball" Redding (at least according to the person I bought it from) |
