or so to buy 1 pre-war card, would you buy:

			1) Mid-Grade HOFer/Star 2) Low-Grade tough back 3) High-Grade common And which card specifically would you pick up? I would probably scoop up another low grade Hindu. Thanks for sharing... Last edited by mintacular; 10-15-2011 at 12:25 PM. |

I just grabbed a Mel Ott Diamond Star (psa 6) for $198...leads me to believe you could get a couple mid-grade HOF/stars for $500...

I'd more than likely go with a couple high grade commons. Picked this beauty up for $240 bucks. It leaves more than enough left over to go find another one with similar eye appeal and stay under the $500 max given.

I would buy a new house...but seriously I would probably have to agree with one of the earlier posts and buy a Cobb or someone likewise. I like to collect different backs too, but I'd most likely say a Cobb.

Another options is to split it up and buy a couple of $240 cards like Tony did and have a few beauties to add to the collection. I know it's gonna be tough, but I wouldn't be too hasty and see what opens up in the near future. Tony...great purchase with the EX-MT common, that looks great! Mike

I'd get a T206 Ty Cobb, or a ripped corner from a Wagner card.

I do have an extra $500...I just can't find the Sovereign back T205s I need. Who's got an Archer, Ball, or Bates? Or anything else, for that matter...

No Mark, I go cheap, domestic beer and cheap date and with the leftover, offer as a reward to the mythical CB Carrigan T206.
