| Sockalexis!

Just got this beauty back from SGC today. I never thought I would be adding this to my Maine players collection. Not even mailed! While I was anxiously waiting for my card to come back, I also got the amazing opportunity to view a private collection, and got to take some photos. I even, and this might be my favorite part, got to see the original (well, a copy of it) newspaper article that showed the box score from the exact game in the postcard! There was also a cartoon, but I will NOT post images of that, because it was basically super racist (the Bangor team was playing a traveling African-American all-star team and got their a**es kicked). I still can't believe I have Sockalexis in my baseball room! Now to find a suitable place for him... |

I was wondering why that postcard sold for so much at auction a few weeks ago. I didn't realize Sockalexis was on that PC! Congrats on the find!!!
