Default Direct Drop off to SGC

Long shot, but is there anyone here or more importantly anyone here that might know someone coming to the Dallas Card Show that does in person direct drop off's to SGC.

Really bummed that I can no longer hand deliver to them at this show.

Scott

Teaser attached, just part of the cards needing graded!

Here's hoping someone can help you out Scott...Orange Border cards are so cool! Looks like the sheet shown is chock full of more Orange Border cards on the other side as well.

Might be worth a flight to Florida to drop these off in person. The Wagner with bat card is one of my 5 favorite cards of all time.

I've been told by their new "communication" guy, Tyler Eve, that there are no plans to attend any shows in person anywhere...so you would have to drop off in person at their office in Florida or sweat bullets hoping whatever mail service you choose (they all suck!) does their job....especially if you don't spend hundreds "insuring" that they do their job....

Quick rant...is there anything worse than paying for a service and then having to pay a ton more (especially if it is an expensive order) to "insure" they do their job???

I had 2 sleepless nights when I sent my $16,000 worth of cards to SGC a month ago, until I had confirmation my order was received. Cost me $50 to send via UPS and if I wanted to "insure" that they did their job it would have been around $500 more (give or take...I honestly don't remember anymore).

One of many reasons I think I'm done sending cards for grading!

Scott, those are incredible. Are they heading to your auction at some point?

Default You know what I started thinking in reading this thread

"I had 2 sleepless nights when I sent my $16,000 worth of cards to SGC a month ago, until I had confirmation my order was received. Cost me $50 to send via UPS and if I wanted to "insure" that they did their job it would have been around $500 more (give or take...I honestly don't remember anymore)"

Was that for the complaining about PSA and their massive upcharges for higher graded cards before they get returned to you, that decision actually makes sense.

Reading the post of the person who sent over 15K worth of cards to the grading company and only spending $50 to send them made me realize there is some merit to that PSA upcharge. Would you want your card to be sent back to you with a lower importance?

Regards
Rich

I don’t believe the upcharge covers any increase in insurance amount on your cards. I believe their terms say they only cover your original declared value. So upcharge is purely for PSA’s entertainment and enrichment.

ETA: Oh, actually does look like there is a provision for increased shipping insurance.

I’ve tried emailing SGC with no luck, and since they don’t seem to have a phone number or respond on social media, I’m starting to wonder if they’d even answer the door. No idea what’s happening there. I’m only 30 minutes away so I used to drop off and pick up my submissions all the time before covid.

Collectors (the idiotically named company- not all of you people) is doing everything possible to squelch SGC. SGC used to be present at all of the regional card shows, and took in thousands of submissions via that method every month. Many people simply don't want to risk damage or loss by sending their cards in the mail... myself included.

As a result, SGC's submission numbers are plummeting. It's just a matter of time before Collectors announces "Due to lack of customer interest, we are closing the doors to SGC, blah blah blah". THEY create and choreograph the problems, and thereby limit your grading choices. I'm not sure why anyone would support a company that has such disdain for the actual collector. They care about revenue and profits... not you.

You'd better get those cards submitted in person fast, as time is of the essence. And if you default to PSA to grade those beauties, you'd better be prepared for their massive up-charges and extortion.

Best of luck!

Mark you know why it's for this reason and this reason only…..People will continue to Support PSA and Collectors because their SLABS SELL FOR THE MOST. That's it :-) it’s business. I know it sucks but we are stuck here between a rock and a hard place. PSA knows that I’ve accepted it.

You're offering these beauties in January??

Scott, when my wife and kids ask what happened to Christmas I'm pointing at you.
