Palmer's 1890 book. I've only seen reference to a couple of other sales

It's been a slow year compared to those in the past but I did make a couple of stellar Walter Johnson pickups. Here's the best of the two.

My most recent pickup is my best pickup this year. (Please refrain from lipsticking this one Scott) It is a Horner photo of Ed Reulbach and
was used on several of his cards like Colgan's Chips, T204 Ramly and Fan Craze to name a few. The reverse has the Horner-Jordan stamp. Last edited by jthorst75; 12-24-2012 at 07:24 PM. |

Nice pickups everyone!
I don't buy much memorabilia, so my choice was easy. Jantz Last edited by Jantz; 11-03-2013 at 09:34 PM. |

This photo of the 1924 Wold Series Champion 1924 Washington Senators: url]http://www.legendaryauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=152015#[/url]
Sorry, but I don't know how to take an auction lot pic and make it appear in a Net 54 thread. Happy collecting to all in 2013, Val |

New to the Forum and Net54 but enjoying it immensely. My aunt was a big
Brooklyn Dodger Fan and I inherited some of her keepsakes when she passed. Thought I share some with you. Comments welcome, particularly about the Home Coming 1951 Diner which she attended and had some of the players sign the program. Hope they came through. What year do you believe the Walter Johnson photo is from? Where was it taken? Thanks! |

Brennan's best and last year with Philadelphia was 1913 and that appears to match his uniform style too. It was probably played in Humboldt as they played there in 1912 for sure. The Senators started using this style uniform in 1912. There's another photo like this only bigger out there and it states Allen County ball players. Brennan was from La Harpe and Johnson from Humboldt. Both of which are in Allen County. I've never seen a picture or any information of a game being played in La Harpe. That's why I figure Humboldt.

Street Light Sign that was used on Market Street in St. Louis welcoming visitors to the 1967 World Series. Now looking for a photo/newspaper article, etc, that shows it in use.

These were two pretty neat things I picked up at a garage sale this year for $1.00 each. They have been sold a few times since, Looks like these two baseballs made a lot of people happy this year

Is that the same one that sold in steiners auction earlier this month? Curious how many cards there are. I was gonna bid on it but they produced so many reprints wasn't going to take the chance.

Great stuff guys!
As you can see, this photo dates from May 18th, 1912. The frame and glass are original. The image measures: 32" x 12". This picture hung in a Cincinnati bar for many years. It goes nicely with my 9" x 12" Redland Field Dedication Program with the same date. Happy Holidays! |

Baseball-wise, I collect Yankees images from the 1920s and 1930s. I had a very productive year (next year will be less so).
These are probably my two favourite pick-ups of this year and for very different reasons. One is the Yankees' squad pictured at Boston in April 1924 (presumably one of their first images as World Champions) and the other is of Joe DiMaggio in 1938. ![]()
