This grotesque thing floated around ebay for two years. I bid 4 times. The 3rd time it was up I bid $90 and lost. The 4th time I won it for about $75. E107s definitely have value no matter how bad, but still I'm tempted to crack it out and soak it in carburetor cleaner or gasoline. There is a thread up now about GAI grading. I think "Poor" was generous.

That's a great price for an E107. This is probably my uglylist card right now.

I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed so far. Well, maybe Waddell, but he ate crackers in bed. Gotta agree John's doesn't qualify for ugly.

About 20 years ago we got a new puppy. He managed to get at my cards and chewed up 2 or 3. One just so happened to be a 1956 Topps Ted Williams in Ex condition. I was sick, but it was my fault. It almost looked as bad as Waddell. Well, maybe half as bad. I sold it on ebay a couple of years ago for $19 and the guy tried to flip it the next week. He got $14.

John--a win-win situation. The card still looks great and a mouse got a good meal.

Actually I hate the Phils of today and the last 30 years. Three of my favorites of all time are John Titus, Sherry Magee, and Grover Alexander. Eccentric. Being strange myself, I can appreciate.

I posted a scan of my fugly T206 Joe Kelley in another similar thread maybe a month or two ago.
It elicted a few biohazard comments...in fact I think our friend Chris Browne is still itching just from viewing the scan. I won't repost the scan for medical reasons. Boys we got us some fugly here ![]() Keep 'em coming!

I had some 1990-1 Donruss, and those are my benchmark for cheap, ugly cards. The stock seemed like Kinko's cover paper.

I grew up a few miles from where Edd lived. Knocked on his door when I was 17 and he was about 80. I wish I had had some good stuff for him to sign. All I had was a 61 Fleer. He signed it and gave me a signed HOF postcard as well. I really wish I hadn't been so damned shy. I could have probably sat and talked with him about baseball for hours. He was friendly enough and all old men have to do is talk.

Yes it's really hideous, but I'm not complaining. It's the only Blue Old Put Back E98 I have ever owned, and 1 of only 5 Blue Backgrounded E98s with an Old Put Overprint that I know of to exist!
All of our "Uglies" are about 100 years old, so they [I]should [I] look beat up! I love them all! ![]() Tim Kindler |
