There is Joe Louis' fist in downtown Detroit. (If they haven't sold it)...lol There was a nice huge mural of Steve Yzerman, which they have now removed, but it gave his birth year, then stated "adopted by Detroit, 1983". Here is the Louis Fist. I am sure there are better photos though. Attachment 120905

St Paul, Nebraska celebrates Grover Cleveland Alexander Days every July...they also have a baseball museum there.
