1937 felts
Just picked up a couple more of these 1936-7 felts. Some say they are remnants of felt beanies but I have my doubts. No smoking gun. No stitch marks or any signs other than fraying that they were ever attached to one another. All opinions and ideas welcome.

Vintage trophy
Some amazing pickups by people here this month! I like mine although it set me back a few dollars. This is probably next months pickup as well!
If you can't read the center of the trophy because of the reflection from the camera-- it says---Rockwell Silver Company Trophy Annual Baseball Game Peacock Vs Hyman and Co. 1913 Won by Peacock's 18-6 L.Perlman Mgr. The interesting this is that surviving on the backside are pieces of an article about this game/trophy as well as a picture. The trophy has never been removed from its case as far as I can tell. |

Trophy
Thanks. This piece comes from the estate of C.D. Peacock........Charles Daniel Peacock....whose father started a jewelry company in the early 1800's in Chicago Illinois and I think are still in business to this day. The Rockwell Silver Co. started in business in Meriden, Ct. in 1905 and was founded by Lucien Rockwell and James W. Mackay.

That's a beautiful and very unique style of Trophy... I agree that the newspaper photo makes for a tremendous complimentary component.
Congrats! |

I picked up both of these items at separate times but wanted to combine modern with vintage for display purposes (the drawing was created by Scott Silvers). I just got the piece back from the frame shop yesterday and it looks great now that I have it hanging up Overall dimensions are 45" x 30".

Herb Pennock Brace Photo
I picked up a great Herb Pennock George Brace photo. It's an 8x10 and is currently for sale if anyone is interested. (The scratches are on the plastic sleeve it's in)

Joey, normally I wouldn't recommend this, but I think you should consider getting that print touched up to cover the black spot on Cicotte's forehead.

I love my new 1910's glove. The padding and interior cloth is perfect, it smells like fresh leather, and it feels like it just came off the field. I can't wait to play catch with it.

Best Ever
I can safely say that this is the best piece I have ever owned. It is the 1910 World Series trophy awarded to Jack Lapp when the Philadelphia A's won it. This is about 12" high and weighs about 11 pounds. It is in perfect condition.

Just picked up these two images of the 1920's "Olson's Terrible Swedes" barnstorming team. This team traveled throughout the Midwest and West and were only surpassed as barnstormers of this period by the Original Celtics and Harlem Rens. Olson later formed Hall of Fame "All-American Red Heads" female barnstorming team.

Charlie Jamieson game used bat
Just picked up this Charlie Jamieson gamer. It's the single dash-dot-dash, so I believe it's from 1917-21. What's cool is that he was the lead-off hitter in the 1920 World Series (when they beat the Dodgers). He also led the A.L. in hits in '23 (beating out Speaker and Ruth)...even came in 3rd for the MVP in '24.

I saw that bat for sale and thought it looked like a nice one. Can you see if the bat is sidewritten at all?

Tough to tell. At times I think I see the remnants of side writing...but the bat is so dark, makes it very difficult. Maybe a uv light would help.

I would bet its sidewritten . I also think it would clean up very well if you don't like the soiled look
