I may be wrong; however, seem to remember that Snodgrass' famous muff occurred later in the year than 9/7, and took place during a different season. Additionally, I believe it was the leadoff hitter who lofted the fly ball he dropped.

You are correct. The most famous "Snodgrass muff" occurred in the 8th game of the 1912 World Series vs the Giants.(Oct), ball hit by Clyde Engle.
