He wasn't given the nickname until the 1900's I believe. Bat is too light by that point to have been used by him.

I'm not a bat expert however.

Can you show me where it says he didn't get the nickname till the 1900's? All I can see after hours of research is that it was given to him by his team mates and he didn't sign with H&B until 1905......

I think it's just stamped from someone who owned it. You will have to come up with some amazing evidence to convince everyone. 30 OZ. 32 " seems a stretch.

Bat is too thin as well. It's almost like a fungo bat. And the 32" is too short.

They are asking $1700 Is for this bat..... Should I stay away? Thoughts?

Without any proof. Your paying way too much. I wouldn't pay anything north of 500.

I agree with the others that it's almost certainly not a Honus Wagner bat. I see the auction just ended without the bat being sold.
