Another t206 question

For P42's, I typically expect to pay 10x - 15x the price of a common back in the same condition. Some fool paid almost 1800 (including bp) for this P42 Willetts in the recent Wheatland Auction.

btw.....beautiful willetts! as you of all collectors know, one of the "tufer" 42's combos....

and not to confuse the issue....a BEAUTIFUL dark back...

did we ever finish the dark vs. light or "baby blue" 42 color distribution??? craig??? me and you we working on this at one point I think??

Thanks Johnny .. wish i knew as much about P42's as you know about scrap! I vaguely remember the dark vs baby blue P42 survey, but I think I got busy with other things and didn't follow it too closely. Don't forget Scot Reader when it comes to knowledge of T206 .. His "Inside T206" is what drew me to the set.

my research indicated about a 50/50 split in the "light" vs" "dark" or , as I call them, piedy 42 baby blue and piedmont "blue" or the darker blue ones .....at first, when I collected them, I thought they were exlusively printed in the "baby" blue and that how I would spot them "in the wild" at first glance on ebay.....then after a while, I noticed the "dark" blue ones.....I thought they were "rarer" than the baby blues.....after many years of collecting, I noticed it was almost split 50/50 in the distribution of light vs. dark....other collectors also contributed....was pretty neat to "discover" the differentiation....

subjects, I noticed, where printed mostly in both......no "exclusive" players attached to either a dark or light blue piedy 42

thanks for posting!!!.........but I think the "baby blue" 42 's don't match the shade of the "light" blue uzits??????? I may be totally wrong??????????????????.....someone please post a comparison
