Default 1986 George Brett Photo

I picked up the attached photo in the RMY auction. On the back it said "1986 baseball special pg 3 & pg 10" I found the 1986 Sporting News Baseball special and sure enough its on pg 3 & 10. What fun

It's hard to "compete" with Dave, Scott and/or the Brett collector, but here's something I found and was thrilled to get for CHEAP!

This is a work shirt, freshly laundered 58 years ago and wrapped with a Giants 1959 home schedule, produced by Magic Seal of Denver, CO.

Now that's cool! How is it after 58 years that the shirt was never unwrapped.

Hank Aaron signed Don wingfield Type 1 photo. Now i just gotta find out what year this was taken. Has to be after 1957 based on the patch

Actually the patch makes it post-1956. The numeric font style and lack of a name on the back make it 1958-1962. This is also likely road jersey.

Probably not as unusual as you might think. I just ran across a bunch of Boy Scout shirts wrapped the same exact way from at least the 1940-50s era...of course the wrap didn't include a cool baseball schedule on it. I think there are a lot of homes out there filled with stuff like this. Unfortunately a lot of it gets thrown away.

Nice one, Rob! I've never seen a schedule presented like this.

Default Old Yankee Yankee Stadium

I suspect it won’t be too long before this artifact requires a bit of explanation. For the fan that carries their ticket on a smart phone or a printed out receipt that is simply scanned, it may be hard to fathom that one time, people actually had individual printed tickets. Not only this, but post game activities may have involved a hand count and reconciling of these torn stubs with the number recorded on the turnstile counter.
