You got it Carlton, and Thank You!.... I believe the "Fultons" are the Fultons Base Ball Club from Fulton Illinois that originated in 1867. They are the only Fultons I can find. I have yet to find any team named the "Jacksons". The piece came from a Memory Lane auction back in January.

Again, not sports but advertising nonetheless (and quite possibly the only one known to exist)....

Great signs everyone. As a Yankees fan, I am digging that Mel Allen ad for Ballentine. I never knew Campy had a show during Yankees telecasts.

Mike,
I was working at the local grocery store in the early 1980's and remember putting it up on the beer display. A month later the manager told me to take it home. Been thinking about parting with it.

Default The Equitable

This is The Equitable Life Insurance Society poster ad. I know they have other players included in these posters like Yogi Berra and Wilt Chamberlain. I'm sure there are others, but the Brooks is my favorite. I like the quote, "Brooks! There's nobody else exactly like him."

In 1992 at the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore, they had a Cal Ripken Jr. exhibit. This Broadside was used at the MARC Train Stations

I always enjoy visiting The Babe Ruth Museum when I'm in MD. I really like the broadside from the exhibit; makes for a very nice display piece.

Thanks Mark; I happened to know one of the directors there and they had a couple left over, so I was able to secure an un-used one.

Keeping with that Orioles theme, here is fairly large Ripken ad piece from Oakley Sunglasses (circa 1998)

Default Victor Sign

Victor Base Ball Supplies Sign. I had never seen this sign before I bought it and haven't ever seen another one since. The top pic is of the sign I have and the bottom is a pic of supply catalogue. (Note the "For Sale Here" on sign pic depicting it as sign to be displayed in the athletic store.) Unfortunately it has been cut down as you can see and was found behind a framed picture. It's a shame it was cut but a miracle it was even found. This will be my next restoration project whenever my Spalding sign is completed. Pics to follow later when they are both done

Appreciate the compliments. The Rawlings piece is also one of my favorites along with the Crown gas. They both make for nice display pieces. They're not as rare as some of these awesome ad pieces that are being shared in this thread, but still pretty cool.

I'm ready to see the Spalding sign once restored; think that sign would be a centerpiece in any collection. I do have an ad banner type item, which is for Crown as well, that I'd like to get cleaned or freshened up, but I know little about the process to get this accomplished. It has some water stains from probably being displayed outside.

A few more. The Atlantic gas sign is in rough shape but I have never seen one like it. It says "Triple Play of Spring".

Mike,

Have you picked up anything related to Yankees advertising signs/posters? They're definitely great items for displaying in a room. With collecting Orioles there are some fakes/reprints that you have to be aware of, but with the Yankees I'm sure there are much more individuals trying to deceive since the collectible market for your team is much greater.

Would like to see your progress as you go.

Good morning Mark,

I do not have any Yankee piecec just yet. I have my eye on a few on eBay as we speak. Im really enjoying what everyone is posting and its giving me an idea what I'm aiming for, which is the era I started watching in the late 70s to 80s. Of course, if I can find a piece thag fits my budget earlier than that time frame I'd be all over it. Of course, any piece I pick up I will post pics here. Thanks for askimg sir!

Mike

By the way I've personally never seen, in person, the Tuxedo ads before, like the Mathewson, McGraw and Johnson you pictured; what size are those pieces?

You have so many awesome pieces this thread will never go away. I'm about out though 😔; so if it were up to me there would be a quick death. Try and find some vintage Orioles signs in you quest for additions to your terrific advertising collection.

Thank you Mark. Very kind of you to say. I'm trying to pace my own self so I don't run out of things to show. Honest to God, I don't any issues with Baltimore Oriole advertising but for me it's just not old enough. Therefore, if I ever run across any you can count on me to give you a chance at it

Default Orioles

The Orioles go back in the 1800's as well, but I won't even hardly mention the three consecutive first place team of 1894 thru 1896 and the Temple Cup championship in 1896 and 1897

You do have a good point. When I think Orioles for some reason I assume 1960s-1970s Having said that I did go after a Temple Cup Print in last REA auction but came up short.

Is it to late to rescind my offer of keeping you in mind for Orioles advertising?

Ha! Nope; your a man of your word

I would love to have some Orioles items from that era of baseball, but so far over the years have come up short. I also want to eventually pick up some Baltimore negro league items as well to display.

By the way I've personally never seen, in person, the Tuxedo ads before, like the Mathewson, McGraw and Johnson you pictured; what size are those pieces?
Thanks Mark, there are several collectors out there that have superior collections to mine believe it or not.

The tuxedo ads roughly 14 x 20

Bob,

Must be some fantastic collections out there. Yours is awesome as well!

Thanks for the information on the size of the Tuxedo pieces. Those are some of my favorites.
