1954 & 1955 Parkhurst Wrestling
I am working on these sets. The 1955 set I am also doing it in a graded version.PLMK if you have any.Thanks.
Decided that I might as well add my 1955 Parkhurst Wrestling set Graded want list.I am looking for cards graded 3 and up to 6.For this set higher than a 6 will be too pricey for me.All cards must be graded by PSA.The only reason for wanting PSA is because I had bought a part set that was already graded by PSA so I might as well finish it in PSA. Not my choice for a grading company but I am trying to do what I can to keep cost down.If this does not get me much help than I will simply pull all the card I need from another set and send them in for grading myself.Thanks. 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #2 Johnny Barend 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #3 Sky Hi Lee 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #4 Hans Schmidt 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #5 Hans Hermann 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #6 Bo Bo Brazil 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #7 Chief Sunni War Cloud 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #9 Roy McLarity 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #10 Danno O'Shocker 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #15 Whipper Watson 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #20 Lou Newman 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #21 Warren Bockwinkle 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #22 The Sharpe Brothers 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #23 Bobby Managoff 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #26 Joe Christie 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #27 Larry Moquin 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #28 Jim Goon Henry 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #32 Mighty Atlas 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #33 Baron Leone 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #34 Hassen Bay 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #37 Dory Funk 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #39 Don Lee Jonathan 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #41 Tex McKenzie 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #42 Pat Flanagan 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #43 Verne Gagne 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #46 Frank Sexton 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #49 Toar Morgan 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #51 Doug Hepburn 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #52 Reggie Lisowski 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #54 Argentina Rocca 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #56 Bearcat Wright 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #59 Harold Nelson 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #60 Sumo Wrestlers 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #63 Miek Sharpe 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #65 Lord Blears 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #67 Jack Laskin 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #69 Ben Morgan 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #70 Lu Kim 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #71 Frank Marconi 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #72 Prince Malava 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #75 Yukon Eric 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #79 Lord Layton 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #80 Dusek Brothers 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #81 Zorra 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #83 Luther Lindsey 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #85 Primo Carnera 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #87 The Great Togo 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #89 Bates Ford 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #90 Ursus and Montana 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #91 Paul Baillargeon 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #92 Bill McDaniels 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #96 Scott Brothers 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #97 Bronko Nagurski 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #99 The Togo Brothers 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #102 George Gordienko 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #103 Vic Holbrook 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #104 Gil Mains 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #105 Firpo Zbyszko 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #107 Al Oeming 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #108 Matt Murphy 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #109 Martin Hutzler 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #110 Tommy O'Toole 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #115 Jack Claybourne 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #117 Whipper Watson 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #118 Steve McGill 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestling #121 Ed Gardenia Last edited by camaro69; 07-15-2016 at 12:16 PM. |

Rob England (Wrestlingcardking) collects this set too and would be a potentially good source for cards for your sets. I suggest sending him a PM or contacting him through EBAY.
Good luck. |

I listed a graded 6 card lot from the 1955 set for a reasonable price and have some 54s that i could be motivated to move instead of putting together a third graded set.......good luck, i think they are great sets that are not overly expensive.

Thank you, the set is not for the faint of heart.....there are 121 cards and there is not a lot that you can simply purchase already graded....many of the cards are sitting in collections at this time.....you will make it with patience though.....good luck!

I believe that you are referring to the 1954 set that had the premium backs.
Where the collector could redeem for gifts from the company. The 1955 set does not have any different backs as far as I know.I did see a few ads on eBay where some people call them Quaker Oats. But Quaker Oats only did hockey in the 55-56 year. The wrestling were sold in packs the same as the regular Parkhurst hockey. Not sure if any of this helps. The 1954 premium backs, how scarce are they as compared to the regular cards?

These cards are stamped on the back: "Valuable card Davy Crockett's Potato Chips Reg'd". These are very scarce, and when found are usually in poor condition. These might be the "Quaker Oats" cards you are referring to. Although I don't know if the Quaker Oats company was the manufacturer of Davy Crockett's Potato Chips. |

I don't think they were short printed. Possibly, many were redeemed for prizes. And many may have a tendency to stay in collections, rather than find their way to market. |
