I just got back into the hobby as well. My main goal was not to get carried away and end up too much clutter so I made a list of the top hundred athletes of all-time ( just by my opinion) and a list of top 30 athletes from my home state of Oklahoma.
I'm collecting RCs from those 130 (so maybe it's already up to 150). I like the mix of affordable cards and iconic ones. |

I collect t206s almost exclusively. Not because I don't want other things, but because I don't have much of a card budget and every time I buy something else, I end up selling it to pay for a t206 I want more. I also have a couple stacks of tougher t207 backs and a handful of other 1909-1917 cards from other sets.

I collect mainly 52 Topps cards but swayed early when I joined the site and had purchased other cards along the way.
My main focus now is collecting 52 Topps, but I would also like to add some pre-war, namely a Ruth of some sort, a Gehrig, etc. I am currently in a dilemma. I have always loved the 56 Topps Mantle and I have the opportunity to purchase one for a fair price (about $600 CDN) but a part of me says spend that money on more 52's. I need to let the seller know soon, if it's not too late already, but for the life of me, I can't seem to make up my mind?
