Beyond these paintings, my idea of original art is woodcuts...it would be my dream to find an original baseball woodblock which was used in one of the 19th century publications. I have never seen one.

George,
Interesting item on your want list, that original woodblock...I agree I've never heard of one...if you get time email me photos of your 19th century boxing items, would like to see. May I ask who painted your Prang copy painting?...they did a great job!

Speaking of emailing....I don't know what the heck happened....I thought I was emailing you my question direct with photos of my Hy S. Watson football painting...I even noticed I didn't get an email reply from you!...I never even looked back on this thread till today...late night fuzzy brain I guess LOL...I wouldn't usually want to post a football piece on someone's baseball specific thread...Nevertheless thanks for your reply.....and apologies to the constituency for the intrusion.

Default Ruth Painting

My wife got me this "Babe", by David Cowles, for Christmas a few years ago, despite me begging her never to buy any memorabilia for me. She did good.

Thanks! I'm writing a story on the mysterious Styborski now. Even though he never pitched in a game at The Stadium, I felt he needed to be pictured on the mound there during the summer of 1927. He was so close...

This one's a little different. Modern jumbo 3D style Plywood Art by acclaimed artist, Steve Sax. I thought this was a cool depiction of the Babe, with the familiar Yankee Stadium Facade behind him...

About 15 years ago I purchased an Edd Roush auto 3x5 and was looking for a photo to frame it with. My little brother was in High School at the time and was a pretty good artist. He said if I give him some pictures he would draw me one in his art class. I didn't know he would draw it poster size.

Default Vander Meer & Cincinnati Reds original art 1940

Pumping some life into one of my favorite Jimmy "The King of Clout" threads! Wow, it's been almost two years since the last post.
What else do you guys have to keep this thread going?

I recently picked up this original piece of artwork that details the Cincinnati Reds and Johnny Vander Meer's run towards the 1940 Word Series. I believe the artist Russell was from the Cincinnati area and these ran in the Cincinnati Post and Cincinnati's News of the Reds team publication.

Jennifer's commission of Eddie Gaedel

If you're in Spokane on August 19th, visit O'Doherty's Irish Grille in downtown Spokane for a celebration of Eddie's birthday. The painting is on display, as well as other tributes to Eddie. Just a whole lot of fun.

Here's a couple from John Barrett. A painter from Philly, I think. Got these 12ish years ago. He used to have a site earlybaseballimages.com, if I remember correctly. Anyone else have a Barrett? Mine is on wood. He also did canvas.

That's really cool Ben.

It would be funny if the Jeter was made from common Red Sox cards.

Thank you again, Anthony. It was a pleasure working for you! And thank you, too, Ben, for the kind words.
