I suggest Memento. It's a super film that really sucks you in scene to scene. Anyone else ever seen it?

A Star is Born
I just saw "A Star is Born". It is a wonderful movie, and Lady Gaga is awesome. My wife wanted to see it and I wasn't all that thrilled about going, but it was really good.

I'm looking forward to seeing Clint's new move, The Mule. Has anyone seen it yet?

Personally I thought Dunkirk was boring. The Darkest Hour was excellent.
My fav movie of all time is without question Inherit The Wind. It was remade a few different times, but the 1963 version with Spencer Tracy, Fredrick March, and Gene Kelly is by far the best version. Well worth the time to check it out. Also, Clint's "Trouble with The Curve" was a very good movie and even better for a baseball fan.

Movies
Some of these movies have been mentioned in this thread (several times), so pardon me for reprising them. The one difference between me and most of you
is that I'm old enough to have seen these movies in the theatre when they were originally shown. And of course, I've seen them on the TV many times since. Anyhow, here are my recommendations...... Casablanca The Robe On The Waterfront Vertigo North by Northwest Guns of Navarone The Great Escape Dr. Strangelove....especially this one, since I was in the Air Force on a B52 Bomber base when it was in the theatre in 1964 The Sting Jaws The Verdict Absence of Malice WESTERNS Ox Bow Incident High Noon Shane Johnny Guitar The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance BASEBALL Pride of the Yankees The Natural The Stratton Story....Monte Stratton pitched for the Chicago White Sox (1934-1938). Jimmy Stewart portrays him in this Academy Award movie (Best original story). TED Z T206 Reference . Last edited by tedzan; 12-22-2018 at 08:40 PM. Reason: Corrected typo. |
