With how new/recent these cards are, comparatively, I was hoping to find higher grade examples but at $20 dollars each CDN delivered, I couldn't refuse them.

You definitely got a good deal. That's a nice '7' for the Kurri, and I love oddball issues and you can't get much better than Orr. Funny, as much hockey as I have, I've never gotten a KSA graded card. And heck, I even have an SCD graded Gretzky so its not like I'm married to PSA/BGS.

As far as grading goes and different companies, I likely have cards from almost everyone but not once have I sent a card in, personally, to get graded. I have heard/read numerous stories about KSA, all from severely negative to highly recommended but I personally have no idea how true any of them are? I heard under the old ownership one had to be careful but I have quite a few times now the new guy, Nate, is suppose to be on top of his game? They certainly don't have wide hobby appeal nor do they carry the same clout/value as SGC or PSA graded cards, but so far so good, imo, with the cards I have purchased. All fit the cases/slabs perfectly and none show any signs of shenanigans as far as my eyes can tell.

I pretty much buy the card, not the grade nor the company. That Kurri 7 is indeed a nice one, I have had a nice 7 and a poor 7 (both PSA). I imagine that happens a certain percentage of the time with all of the grading companies. Just part of the deal I guess. |
