I believe 1914s were much more likely than 1915s to come in boxes of cracker Jacks and thus tend to have much more caramel staining on them. Some of us prefer the stains!!

I think the paper stock is the same - thin - on both '14 and '15s.

Stock is DEFINITELY thicker on the 1915s. The 1914s are extremely thin.
I think the difference is similar to a T206 vs thinner T213-1 Coupon or T216 Kotton. They appear the same but when you hold both in hand its a noticeable difference. Just my experience ![]()

Here are my four 1915 CJs. The stock is definitely thicker than paper, but thinner than what I would term cardstock. They smell right, feel right, loupe right, and do not fluoresce under the blacklight. No white borders, and the corners on all 4 are soft. Very soft. Very fragile. Any weird artifacts are the result of my phone camera.
